FANUC, Mitsubishi, Brother and Siemens
Common CNC systems can be supported after the exact control model, communication interface and machine configuration are confirmed.
CSD700 is Yidai's second-generation external-axis control solution for upgrading a three-axis CNC machine with an indexed fourth or fifth axis. It combines the external-axis controller and servo drive in one compact unit, helping reduce cabinet space, separate components and field wiring.
For CNC rotary table manufacturers, CSD700 can be matched with a 400 W to 1 kW servo motor according to table ratio, torque, speed, inertia, encoder, brake method and target CNC interface.
Unlike the first-generation YD-1 standalone controller architecture, CSD700 integrates the axis-control function and servo-drive function in a single device. A complete retrofit solution can be configured with the CSD700, a matched servo motor, CNC rotary table, brake/clamp circuit and machine-interface wiring.
CSD700 retrofit projects can be evaluated for FANUC, Mitsubishi, Brother and Siemens CNC machines. Final compatibility depends on the exact CNC model, software version, available communication resources, machine-builder PLC logic and electrical wiring.
| CNC system | Typical manual operation | Items to confirm |
|---|---|---|
| FANUC | The original machine handwheel can be retained on compatible configurations. | Full CNC model, software version, macro/variable access, communication ports and machine PLC. |
| Mitsubishi | The original machine handwheel can be retained on compatible configurations. | Controller series, Ethernet/serial resources, variable addresses, axis-select and multiplier signals. |
| Brother | An additional electronic handwheel is required for manual movement of the external axis. | Communication interface, program call method, handwheel installation and in-position signal. |
| Siemens | An additional electronic handwheel is required for manual movement of the external axis. | System version, interface resources, program logic, safety interlocks and handwheel wiring. |
The communication method may use I/O, serial communication or Ethernet depending on the CNC model and project requirements. The final solution must include servo alarm, origin, limit, positioning, clamp and machining-permission interlocks.
CSD700 is intended for indexed positioning. If the rotary axis must move continuously and simultaneously with X, Y and Z during cutting, the project should be evaluated as a native interpolated-axis upgrade or a dedicated multi-axis machine application.
Depending on the project, Yidai can provide the integrated CSD700 controller/servo drive, matched servo motor, rotary table, required control wiring and retrofit compatibility support. Rotary table manufacturers can review the OEM servo motor, drive and controller package. The final configuration is quoted after the machine and workpiece information has been reviewed.
What servo power does CSD700 support?
CSD700 supports matched servo systems from 400 W to 1 kW. Final motor selection depends on rotary-table transmission, workpiece and fixture load, required torque, speed, inertia, braking and duty cycle.
Can every FANUC or Mitsubishi machine use the original handwheel?
No. The original handwheel can be retained only after the exact CNC model, version, communication resources, variable permissions and machine-builder wiring have been confirmed.
Do Brother and Siemens machines need manual operation during automatic machining?
No. The additional handwheel is used for setup, homing and manual movement. During automatic machining, the CNC program calls the target angle and waits for the rotary table to reach position.
Is the servo motor included?
A matched servo motor can be supplied as part of the complete solution. Motor power and rotary-table configuration are selected according to the required torque, speed, load and machining conditions.
Yidai supplies matched servo control systems for CNC 4th- and 5th-axis rotary tables. Selection is based on rotary-table load, reduction ratio, encoder, brake and CNC interface—not on a generic spindle or feed-axis servo specification.
Yidai external axis retrofit advantages
Matched rotary tables, servo hardware and external control options for indexed machining projects.
Common CNC systems can be supported after the exact control model, communication interface and machine configuration are confirmed.
Compatible FANUC and Mitsubishi configurations can use the original machine handwheel. Brother and Siemens configurations require an additional electronic handwheel.
A complete external-axis project can substantially reduce investment compared with an OEM additional-axis package, depending on the machine and project scope.
External control is intended primarily for indexed positioning and multi-face machining. Full simultaneous interpolation requires a separate CNC and servo-architecture review.
