CNC Rotary Table Servo Sizing Checklist
A rotary-table servo package should be selected as one system: rotary mechanics, reduction ratio, servo motor, servo drive, controller, brake circuit, cables and CNC interface. This checklist helps collect the information needed before Yidai recommends a matched control package. It is intended for indexed 3+1 or 3+2 applications unless simultaneous interpolation is separately confirmed.

1. Define the supply scope
- Servo control system for an existing CNC rotary table
- Controller, matched servo drive and servo motor package
- Complete indexed retrofit package including the rotary table
- OEM control package for a rotary-table manufacturer
Confirm whether you need control hardware only or a complete package. YD-1 is an axis-card controller architecture supplied with a matched servo drive and motor. CSD700 combines the rotary-axis controller and servo drive and can be matched with 400 W to 1 kW servo motors. Final selection still depends on the table, load and motion requirement.
2. Record the rotary table data
- Manufacturer and exact model
- Table diameter, center height and installation orientation
- Reduction mechanism and total reduction ratio
- Rated and peak output torque, if available
- Maximum permitted input or output speed
- Brake or clamping method and operating voltage
- Existing motor flange, shaft, coupling and encoder arrangement
3. Describe the workpiece and fixture
- Workpiece and fixture weight
- Workpiece dimensions and center-of-gravity offset
- Horizontal, vertical or dual-position use
- Cutting process, material and expected disturbance load
- Required indexing positions and positioning frequency
Diameter alone is not enough for servo sizing. Weight, overhang, reduction ratio, acceleration, cutting disturbance and brake holding requirement must be evaluated together.
4. Define the motion requirement

An external controller is primarily intended for indexed positioning and multi-face machining. A project requiring continuous simultaneous X/Y/Z/A motion, advanced CNC kinematics or TCP/RTCP must be reviewed as a different control architecture.
5. Confirm the CNC and machine interface
- Machine builder and exact machine model
- CNC brand, complete control model and software version
- Available TCP/IP, RS232, digital I/O or M-code signals
- Required command, ready, in-position, brake and alarm handshake
- Original machine handwheel or additional electronic handwheel requirement
- Electrical-cabinet space, power supply and grounding conditions
Brand name alone does not confirm compatibility. Send the exact CNC model and clear electrical-cabinet photos so the interface can be reviewed.
6. Check the mechanical and electrical fit
- Motor flange and shaft adaptation
- Coupling, belt or gearbox connection
- Encoder type and feedback connection
- Motor, encoder and brake cable lengths
- Cabinet cooling, protection and cable routing
- Emergency-stop, interlock and safe machining sequence
7. Choose the controller architecture

8. Prepare the RFQ package
- Rotary table drawings, nameplate and transmission details
- Workpiece and fixture dimensions, weight and center of gravity
- Required angles, speed, cycle and positioning target
- CNC and machine model, cabinet photos and available interfaces
- Required supply scope and destination country
